Contra Costa Community College District hosted an information session for international students on new federal immigration requirements

The Contra Costa Community College District (4CD) hosted an informational briefing this week to help international students navigate updated federal immigration regulations and compliance guidelines that took effect in mid-September.

The session brought together campus international student advisors, legal resources, and district administrators to review key requirements governing student visas, authorized on-campus employment, curricular practical training, and international travel authorization. Advisors outlined proactive steps students should take to maintain lawful nonimmigrant status throughout their academic programs.

District officials emphasized the importance of timely document submissions, particularly regarding program extensions, change of major notifications, and address updates required by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program. International student services staff also answered student inquiries regarding travel endorsements prior to the upcoming winter break.

Contra Costa Community College District serves thousands of international scholars across Diablo Valley College, Contra Costa College, and Los Medanos College.
