Recreation coordinators with the City of San Ramon Parks and Community Services Department are welcoming residents aged 55 and older to the Alcosta Senior and Community Center at 9300 Alcosta Boulevard this week as late-autumn wellness, lifelong learning, and digital literacy courses get underway. Reviewed by the San Ramon Senior Advisory Committee and Parks and Community Services Commission in October 2026, the expanded seasonal schedule addresses growing demand from retirees across Westside San Ramon, Twin Creeks, and Dougherty Valley.

A centerpiece of this autumn's programming is a series of small-group technology clinics led by volunteer instructors and high school honor-society tutors. Sessions walk older adults through telehealth video appointments, online banking fraud prevention, smartphone accessibility settings, and County Connection Senior Clipper card setup. City staff emphasized that closing the digital divide helps San Ramon seniors stay connected with healthcare providers and family members as winter weather approaches.

In the center's movement studios and landscaped courtyard gardens, certified fitness specialists are leading low-impact tai chi, chair yoga, bone-density strength training, and fall-prevention balance workshops. Alongside fitness and art classes, the center hosts the weekday Contra Costa Café congregate lunch program at 11:30 a.m. in partnership with Contra Costa County Senior Nutrition Services, providing balanced hot meals and social connection.

Door-to-door GoSanRamon! and County Connection LINK paratransit vouchers remain available for eligible San Ramon seniors who no longer drive. Residents can browse the full autumn recreation guide, reserve lunch seats, or register for classes in person at 9300 Alcosta Boulevard, online at sanramon.ca.gov, or by calling (925) 973-3250.
