City of Dublin Sponsors Free Wellness in Our Backyard Health and Safety Fair at Don Biddle Community Park
More than 20 first-responder agencies, health providers, and community organizations gather for family emergency preparedness showcase.

The City of Dublin is welcoming Tri-Valley families to Don Biddle Community Park on Horizon Parkway for "Wellness in Our Backyard," a free, family-friendly health and safety fair running from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Organized by municipal parks and community services staff in partnership with regional public safety agencies, the four-hour outdoor showcase connects residents from Dublin, San Ramon, Pleasanton, and Livermore with hands-on emergency preparedness resources and preventative healthcare screenings. Admission and all educational demonstrations across the park lawns are completely free of charge.
More than 20 first-responder agencies, local community organizations, and regional health and safety providers are participating in the Don Biddle Community Park exhibition. Booths staffed by Alameda County Fire Department paramedics, Dublin Police Services officers, disaster preparedness coordinators, and local medical clinics are offering practical tips on keeping households healthy and prepared for earthquakes, wildfires, winter power outages, and medical emergencies. Visitors can inspect modern fire engines and emergency command vehicles up close, learn hands-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques, and assemble customized 72-hour family emergency supply checklists.
To keep the atmosphere festive and engaging for attendees of all ages between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., the event features a lineup of local food trucks alongside dedicated children's recreation zones. Kids can participate in interactive obstacle courses, safety helmet fittings, and craft activities near the park's central playground while parents consult with nutrition specialists, mental health counselors, and senior wellness advocates. Neighborhood watch coordinators from Dublin Ranch and Dougherty Valley noted that face-to-face conversations with local police and fire personnel strengthen community resilience long before an actual disaster strikes.
Dublin City Council members and the municipal Parks and Community Services Commission praised the collaborative agency turnout at the 30-acre Horizon Parkway park facility. County emergency services board officials emphasized that household readiness across the Interstate 580 and Interstate 680 corridors plays a critical role in reducing emergency room congestion during regional heat waves or seismic events. Municipal transit and bicycle pathways connecting Dublin Boulevard directly to Don Biddle Community Park will remain open throughout the afternoon.
Residents seeking additional details on the "Wellness in Our Backyard" exhibitor directory, food truck vendors, or municipal Community Emergency Response Team training courses can visit dublin.ca.gov or call the Dublin Parks and Community Services Department at (925) 833-6650.
