Livermore Valley Arts has unveiled its November and December 2026 performance schedule at the Bankhead Theater at 2400 First St. in downtown Livermore, bringing brass ensembles, orchestral classics, comedy, and holiday cinema to the Tri-Valley stage, according to Your Town Monthly.
November Performances: Canadian Brass and Handel’s Messiah
The holiday music series opens on Sunday, Nov. 22, with the return of Canadian Brass, performing seasonal arrangements alongside traditional brass repertoire.
One week later, on Sunday, Nov. 29, the Pacific Chamber Orchestra and choir take the stage for Handel’s Messiah, performing selections from the Christmas, Passion, and Easter sections culminating in the “Hallelujah” chorus.
December Highlights: Charo, Livermore-Amador Symphony, B.J. Novak, and Peter Billingsley
December opens with four distinct weekend and holiday events at the Bankhead:
- Charo (Friday, Dec. 4): Acclaimed flamenco guitarist, singer, and comedian Charo brings a high-energy concert blending Spanish guitar virtuosity with stage humor.
- Livermore-Amador Symphony — 40th Failure to Success (Saturday, Dec. 5): Featuring violin soloist Julian Rhee performing Jean Sibelius’ Violin Concerto, the symphony’s program explores musical works that overcame difficult premieres—including Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Suite and Georges Bizet’s Carmen Suites—to become enduring classics.
- B.J. Novak (Sunday, Dec. 6): Actor, writer, director, and bestselling author B.J. Novak (The Office, Vengeance, One More Thing) appears live for an evening of storytelling, comedy, and audience conversation.
- A Christmas Story With Peter Billingsley (Monday, Dec. 21): Ahead of Christmas, the Bankhead screens the 1983 holiday film A Christmas Story followed by behind-the-scenes stories and an audience Q&A with star Peter Billingsley (Ralphie Parker).
